‘바우메로’라는 브랜드명은 디자이너, 가죽장인, 포토그래퍼 등으로
구성된 창작모임 장소 '바우뫼로'라는 주소에서 비롯되었습니다.
전통적인 장인생산 기술과 비전통적이고 혁신적인
현대디자인의 접목을 추구하는 모임입니다.
We define “artisan-made” as a method of production
in which an artisan is responsible for the entire production.
We believe that there is a significant difference between
mass production and artisan production
since our artisans put all their effort into making every piece.
We believe that an artisan is a creator who pays
great attention to quality with exceptional know-how.
장인생산이란 한 개의 제품을 한 사람이 만드는 것을 의미합니다.
쉐프의 이름을 걸고 만든 요리와 패스트푸드의 차이처럼,
장인생산과 대량생산의 차이는 분명합니다.
장인이 만드는 모든 작품에는 자존심이 담겨있습니다.
장인은 자존심을 위해 매 작품마다
본인의 모든 정성과 공을 쏟아 붓습니다.
경력이 풍부한 제작자가 그같은 마음마저 겸했을 때,
우리는 그 사람을 비로소 ‘장인’이라고 부릅니다.
우리는 그러한 장인들이 모여 생산활동을 하는 것을
장인생산(Artisan Made)이라고 정의합니다.

we deconstruct and reconstruct objects into a new structure.

바우메로는 사물의 조형과 구조를 다른 관점에서 바라봅니다.
제품의 통상적인 구조를 파괴하고 무작위로 선정된
점(point)과 선(line)과 면(plane)의 개수에 입각하여
모든 부위를 해체한 후 재구성합니다.
전례가 없는 작품 구조는 우리에게 해방감을 느끼게 해주고
신선한 재미를 선사합니다.
바우메로의 디자인은 [원래 이렇게 만들어야 한다.]와 같은
모든 관습적 사고를 거부합니다.
